His is the kind of story that is often told but seldom witnessed, let alone experienced. Taking to music later in life, Pete Murray discovered he had natural guitar playing, singing and song-writing talents. As you do.
Supported by those around him, Pete started to develop his musical hobby into a profession. Long story short, he has now released two number one albums, has had a string of top ten hits, and is looking to do it all again with his brand new album Summer At Eureka.
Indeed, Pete has become so popular that his performance on Monday Night Live had to be moved to a larger venue. Needless to say, the capacity crowd at The Factory in Sydney's inner-west was not disappointed.
Pete introduced a new style. He has moved away from the heavily studio produced approach of his previous two albums, allowing his naturally stripped-back sound to permeate. It's rockier, and one gets the impression 'much more Pete' than before. His inhibitions are clearly dissolving as his art is evolving. It's a beautiful process to witness.
O - but there's one thing that hasn't changed. Check out the flurry of front-row female fans.
