Their reputation as one of Australia’s best ever live, rocks acts is not a title that The Living End take lightly.  Or slowly.  Or softly, for that matter.  During the sound check for their Monday Night Live performance, The Living End rocked The Basement (Sydney) in a way that the legendary, cultural establishment had never been rocked before; and that was just the sound check.

What was to unfold during the live show is the stuff that legends are made of.  It was the kind of hard, unabated Rock And Roll that allows you just enough down time to breathe, thus avoiding hyperventilation.  Just.  There were drums.  Firm, fast drums.  There was bass.  Cavernous, cadenced bass.  And there was a versatile guitar that mortared the mix.  It’s not complicated.  It’s Rock And Roll in its essence, and The Living End proved they are amongst the modern masters of it.
