It’s difficult to describe the atmosphere that is created when an audience knows something good is about to happen. This audience knew it and The Panics did not disappoint.
Their stage presence was warm and inviting. Slide guitar directed the sound to a dreamy space, reminiscent of the freedom of early surf rock, minus the teenage angst. Their pop song structure was supported by poetically-crafted story-telling lyrics, and the entire band played with the talent and consideration of a well cellared bottle of red.
Those who caught their performance on Monday Night Live will agree – The Panics know how to play a live show. Those who didn’t catch the performance should do themselves a favour and watch it now.
