She’s one of the world’s hottest singers, and is currently preparing a highly anticipated comeback record with her original band, Californian ska-pop kings No Doubt. But 40-year-old blonde Gwen Stefani has confessed she doesn’t expect to be on stage forever… and is already putting plans in place for life away from the music spotlight.
In an upcoming issue of InStyle magazine, the “Hollaback Girl” singer says her forays into the fashion world – including her successful label, L.A.M.B – come with a determination to enjoy a successful career after she steps away from the music world.
 “I wanted so badly to have a backup plan for when I’m not performing anymore,” Stefani admits. “Let’s be realistic: It’s not going to be like this forever. So I wanted to continue having something creative to do.”
Fashion has always been a passion for the star, who’s married to former Bush singer Gavin Rossdale. Famous for her ripped abs as much as she is her style worthy outfits, Stefani’s offstage look has inspired thousands of female fans. “I made so many clothes growing up, and I used to do my own costumes,” she tells of her teenage years. “All I would do was just daydream about what I was going to make.”
Does she wish she had a daughter to pass on her girly interest? A third child is, Stefani says, not on the cards right now, though she’s willing to wait and see. (The singer currently has two sons.) “I don’t know,” Stefani laughed when asked about becoming a mum for a third time. “I’m not focusing on it right now, but it’s not up to me anyway, you know? These things are miracles, so we’ll see. Otherwise, [my] clothes are probably going to go to some girlfriend of [oldest son] Kingston’s!”
