Former Wham! leader George Michael has reportedly purchased a AUS$5.3 million Sydney mansion, in one of Sydney’s prestigious waterfront eastern suburbs.
The soon to be 47-year-old British singer, who toured down under in February 2010 – his first concerts in the country since his Faith tour, way back in 1988 – fell in love with Australia, choosing to stay on for a holiday for two months and enjoying the annual Mardi Gras celebrations, during which he made a guest performance.
Currently living in London’s Highgate Hill with his long-term partner, Kenny Goss, the “Careless Whisper” singer has reportedly bought a three-storey, five-bedroom house which features a pool, glass walls, a terrace and a huge deck, located bear the beach.
At the time of his earlier visit, Michael was snapped by paparazzi spending time on Sydney Harbour and was witnessed out and about at several nightspots and restaurants throughout the city. “He loves Sydney and plans to split his time between here and London,” a source said at the time.
With over 100 million albums sold throughout his career so far, Michael certainly has the funds to snap up new real estate. His last studio release was 2004’s Patience.
