[Source: NME.com] The man who co-wrote Lana Del Rey's 'Video Games' has admitted that "no-one liked it" from her record label when they first heard the track.

Justin Parker receives writing credits for five tracks on the singer's debut album 'Born To Die', which was released by Polydor in January.

"They didn't think it was a single," Parker told BBC's Newsbeat. "It was quite amazing because me and Lana thought it was brilliant."

He added that the video accompanying the song, which has now been viewed more than 38 million times on YouTube, managed to convince them.

"I think the video changed everyone's mind. It just took off didn't it?" he added.

Earlier this week it was announced that 'Video Games' is up for Best Contemporary Song at the Ivor Novello Awards, along with James Blake's 'The Wilhelm Scream' and Nero's 'Promises'.
