For their tenth studio album, Heritage, Opeth have leapt ahead of the progressive transitions made between previous albums, the heavy death style vocal being abandoned in favor of frontman Mikael’s Akerfeld’s heartfelt and sometimes folk laden melodic vocal.   As the album’s title suggests the band are tipping their hat to 70’s artists that have inspired them.  Produced by Opeth and Porcupine Tree’s Steven Wilson this is an album that requires multiple listens that captures warm and earthy tones. Opeth have outdone themselves yet again.
