The prestigious Australian Music Prize shortlist is out

​The 2012 Australian Music prize shortlist has been announced. No surprises for guessing Gotye leads the charge. 

The AMP awards, which will be announced on the 8th of March in Sydney, celebrate the best Australian songwriting of the last 10 months as voted by a panel of 42 judges across the music industry. The prize is one of the most sought after in Australia; the winner will receive $30,000 in cash. 

Gotye is joined in the shortlist by newcomers Boy & Bear, duet partner Kimbra & Magic Dirt frontwoman Adalita for her debut solo album.
