You can't help but feel some pity for troubled pop singer Britney Spears: first there was the breakdown of her marriage to Kevin Federline and then came the weird head-shaving incident, rehab and a custody battle. Now the "Oops I Did It Again" star is being investigated by American animal charity the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) after her dog was spotted wearing a cast. "We have received various complaints throughout the day," SPCA's president, Madeline Bernstein, said on Saturday 25 August. "Some said that Britney's Yorkie dog was injured and had a cast on and some said the dog had a broken leg and was not treated." Today Spears' publicist has shrugged off the report, saying the pooch was fine.
