[source: NME.com] A fan died at a
Smashing Pumpkins gig in Vancouver on Monday 24 September after being involved in what police described as a "mosh pit or crowd-surfing incident".
Police explained the man was removed unconscious from the crowd inside the PNE Forum.
First aid specialists attempted to revive him before he was transferred to the nearby St Paul's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said they did not suspect foul play and the circumstances were "not suspicious", claiming the death was due to an "out of control mosh pit".
A spokeswoman for the venue said: "It's just a really, really sad ending to what probably started out as a very fun night for a young man."
