The recent memorial concert for Princess Diana – held at London's Wembley Stadium on Sunday 1 July – has raised more than AU$2.75 million for charity.
Eight different charities will benefit from the funds raised from the show, which featured performances from some of Diana's favourite artists, including
Take That and
Elton John.
Organised by the late princesses' two children, Prince William and Prince Harry, a spokesperson for the Royal Family said: "Although the event was first and foremost a tribute concert, both princes were keen that any proceeds should be shared among the eight charities they had selected to be beneficiaries."
A DVD of the concert will be released on Monday 5 November.
