He might have been dead for 30 years, but Memphis crooner Elvis Presley is still one of the richest men in music.
A new Forbes magazine poll of the top-earning dead celebrities has listed the “Blue Suede Shoes” singer at the number one position, with an estimated AUS$53 earned last year. Presley’s earnings come via music royalties, DVDs, licensing deals and tourist visits to Graceland, the mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.
Also heading up the list is John Lennon (at number two with earnings of $48 million), Tupac Shakur ($10 million), James Brown ($5 million) and Bob Marley ($4 million).
