The 34-year marriage between Mexican-via-San Francisco guitarist Carlos Santana and his wife, Deborah, has come to an end, with Deborah filing for divorce in Marin County Superior Court.

Writing in her autobiography Space Between The Stars, back in 2005 Deborah recalled her husband cheating on her throughout their union, prompting the “Black Magic Woman” to comment, “I sincerely apologised to her and to my kids when I wasn’t in my right mind and did something hurtful. [The book] has helped me become more humble and to try harder to be the man she wants me to be.”

Business partners as well as spouses, the couple set up the Milagro Foundation, a non-profit organisation that supports underprivileged children. They share three children, aged 23, 22, and 17. The divorce is, says publicist Michael Jensen, “a private matter – there is no comment.”
