[Source: NME.com] Bono had nothing but positive words to say about New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg after a meeting Thursday night (1 November ).

The pair met at City Hall in New York to discuss the various philanthropic projects that they are working on.

The U2 frontman co-founded DATA which stands for Debt, AIDS, Trade. Africa and is working on alleviating the chronic issue of povery and AIDS in Africa. Bloomberg has recently turned much of his attention to the foundation, and will reportedly give away much of his billion-dollar fortune.

His recently dropped his Republican allegiance to become an independent, amid rumours that he will run for President of the US.

Speaking outside City Hall, Bono said “What I’m interested in is not just his cash, but his intellect, and how his business acumen could be used to work for the world’s poor. I think our paths are going to cross.”

He also said that he thinks Bloomberg “could do an awful lot of good inside or outside the White House.”
