Not only is ARIA Hall Of Fame Inductee Nick Cave keeping busy with the upcoming release of his 14th album with the Bad Seeds – Dig! Lazarus, Dig!, due out in early March – but he’s also being celebrated again in his home state of Victoria.
The Victorian Arts Centre is staging an exhibition featuring over 800 momentos and personal items for the Birthday Party, Boys Next Door and the Bad Seeds frontman.
“It’s actually rather frightening,” Cave says of the exhibition beginning at the end of November and running through to April. “I don’t look back. I don’t even play my records once they’re done. They go out there and I start the next one. Normally I’ve been -- on some level -- hugely embarrassed by the past. Some of this stuff is so far back I can see it with a sense of humour and not fret about it so much.”
Nick Cave: The Exhibition will re-create his office and feature diaries, penned lyrics, film footage, art pieces and more.
