“Peachy” singer Missy Higgins – who’s about to embark on her national tour, “For One Night Only” – has fuelled speculation about her sexual orientation, by appearing on the cover of a new national lesbian magazine, Cheeky.

Inside the 24-year-old singer says she’s “not so straight”, while refusing to define her sexual preferences: “I think a lot of people fall under that broad umbrella term,” Higgins says, cryptically suggesting inside the magazine’s pages that she is bisexual.

“I think sexuality is a fluid thing and it’s becoming increasingly more acceptable to admit that you’re that way. I don’t think it’s necessary to have to define yourself by any label. If you’re comfortable with who you are and you know who you are on the inside, people will love you for it.”

Higgins tour kicks off on Saturday 17 November, Kuranda Amphitheatre, Cairns, QLD.
