Things might not be too comfortable in the Simpson household, with the father of pop starlet Ashlee Simpson, Joe Simpson (who also acts as her manager) telling his 23-year-old daughter not to bring her boyfriend home for the holidays.

The “Autobiography” singer dates Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, whose public declarations of kissing other men haven’t gone down too well with Simpson’s parents. “He was sceptical about the relationship from the start,” a source says. “There is a rumour that Pete tried to commit suicide, but with the news of his possible bisexuality, Joe blew his top. Ashlee is upset, but she values her dad’s opinions and has agreed.”

Meanwhile, Ashley’s big sister, Jessica Simpson, has a new man who her dad 100% approves of – he actually set them up. The reality TV star/singer is currently dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
