[Source: NME.com] Britney Spears’ car was impounded by Los Angeles police on Monday 7 January after it was discovered abandoned on the street.

The pop star’s vehicle reportedly got a flat tire on Sunset Boulevard around 8:00 pm. She abandoned it and apparently got a ride home from paparazzi who had been following her.

“She left it unattended and it was blocking traffic, so it was towed,” Officer Karen Smith, a police spokeswoman, told the Associated Press.

Spears had just been released from a Los Angeles hospital where she was undergoing psychological evaluation following a police standoff in which she refused to hand over her son to her ex-husband’s bodyguard.

The singer has had several car-related troubles in recent months, including allegedly driving without a license and running over a photographer’s foot.
