Hard rocking American supergroup Velvet Revolver have cancelled their planned tour of Australia, which was due to kick off later this week.
Singer Scott Weiland – formerly with Stone Temple Pilots – has headed back to rehab, after falling off the wagon following a show in Los Angeles last week. The “She Builds Quick Machines” singer has spent years battling his drug and alcohol demons, which led him to spend time in prison back in 1998.
Meanwhile guitarist Slash, bassist Duff McKagan, drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Dave Kushner say they “deeply apologise to their fans in Australia and thank the for sticking by the group when various members have relapsed during the last year and a half”.
The band are still planning on performing in at a festival in Dubai in March, which will then be followed by a UK tour.
