A fitness company in the United States is suing blonde pop singer Jessica Simpson, after the 27-year-old refused to release a fitness tape she filmed back in 2005.

According to the New York Post, workout video company Speedfit are filing suit against Simpson and her manager father, Joe, for AUS$11m, after they refused to agree to a settlement.

Simpson reportedly signed a multi-million dollar deal to lend her image to the company.

“They are hurting millions of fat people in America,” Speedfit owner Alex Astilean said of the Simpsons.

The “With You” star’s legal representative says the issue is “a legal matter that’s in the hands of attorneys.”
