One of the world’s biggest bands, Irish rockers U2, have teamed up in a Dublin studio to begin recording new material.
Bono and pals are once again joining forces with long-time collaborators Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois to start sessions for the follow-up to their 2004 hit LP, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb.
“We’re going to try and break new sonic ground and deliver a masterpiece,” Lanois revealed to Billboard.com, the band having already decamped to France and Morocco on two previous songwriting trips.
“The sleeves are rolled up. Bono is all charged up with a lyrical angle. There’s so much material,” he said, referring to speculation that the sessions could yield two new albums.
“When you get Eno and I and those guys in the room, before lunch there’s like eight things.”
