American pop star Michael Jackson was set to be one of the most hyped appearances at last week’s Grammy Awards in Los Angeles.

Appearing in order to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his hit LP, Thriller, it’s now been revealed by Grammy insiders that the 49-year-old star was a no-show after organisers withdrew their invitation, following Jackson’s bizarre demands.

Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich reportedly withdrew the invitation, after Jackson’s camp demanded a new category be invented for the “Billie Jean” star – which he would then be presented with by the person of his choice.

Jackson also insisted the whole evening be dedicated to his entire career, and that he was to be repeatedly called ‘The King Of Pop’.

Needless to say, the demands weren’t met – and Jackson was a no-show.
