It was almost four years ago that Melbourne rockers
Jet played their first US show at the small, yet noteworthy, Spaceland venue in Los Angeles. With millions of sales of their debut, Get Born, under their belt, Jet were back at the 260-person capacity venue once again on Sunday night. Performing an intimate, semi-acoustic show in support of second LP Shine On, the band surprised the crowd with a few special guests. Jet were joined onstage by soul singers the Waters Sisters, who provide back-up on Shine On (and, as drummer Chris Cester pointed out, also sang on Michael Jackson's hit LP, Thriller). They were followed by former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash (who helped the band cover The Rolling Stones' "Salt Of The Earth") and Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson (who sang Jet's "Eleanor" plus The Ronettes' "Be My Baby"). Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones also took to the stage (for The Faces' "Miss Judy's Farm"), with the night ending in a huge all-star finalé.
