Rapper-turned-actress and now Jenny Craig spokesperson Queen Latifah (who was born Dana Elaine Owens) is set to release her own fragrance, launching the new product in early 2009 with company Parlux Fragrances, Inc.

The 38-year-old star – who was nominated for an Oscar in 2002 for her role in Chicago – says she can’t wait to reveal her special product.

”For me, beauty really does start on the inside. It’s like a state of mind - a state of love, if you will. So, I see fragrance as just a natural expression of this state of love – scent expresses a woman’s confidence and sensuality. It’s how she embraces her body, her mind and her strength.”

Parlux Fragrances, Inc. is also behind the fragrances of other celebrities including Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson and tennis superstar Andy Roddick.
