British rapper Mike Skinner has sent fans into shock with his announcement that a forthcoming album by
The Streets – Skinner’s artist title – will be his last record.
According to a blog posting by the “Fit But You Know It” star, the fifth Streets’ LP (not to be confused with Skinner’s fourth disc, Everything Is Borrowed, which is due out in late 2008), will definitely be the final disc he’ll release under ‘the Streets’ moniker.
“If you like The Streets you are about to experience the peaceful positive vibes that come after a disturbing work such as the last you heard,” Skinner writes. “(But) the final Streets album (the fifth one) will be dark and futuristic. This could not be further from the album you’re about to hear, but it’s what is on my mind at the moment.”
