With over 65 million albums to their name, British rock heavyweights Def Leopard are rock & roll legends thanks to hit singles such as “Pour Some Sugar On Me”, “Rock Of Ages” and “Let’s Get Rocked”.

The last time they toured down under it was way back in 1992… and now the Sheffield five-piece – led by singer Joe Elliott – are heading back our way.

The aging outfit released a brand new album, Songs From The Sparkle Lounge, in April.

The first single, “Nine Lives”, has proven an unsuspecting radio hit in the UK and US, topping the charts thanks to the band’s collaboration with country music superstar Tim McGraw.

The LP’s title is a reference to the band’s makeshift rehearsal space they create backstage at Def Leppard shows. "It was a mini (drum) kit, mini amps, a tape recorder and sparkly lights," says Elliott.

Def Leppard will be joined on the road by 20 million-selling Illinois legends Cheap Trick, who took over the charts in the ‘70s thanks to classics like “Surrender”, “Dream Police” and “You Want My Love”.

Meanwhile local lads the Galvatrons will open proceedings. Tickets are onsale Friday 20 June and dates are:

Friday 31 October – Members Equity Stadium, Perth, WA
