With hits like “Walk Like An Egyptian”, “Eternal Flame” and “Going Down To Liverpool”, California four-piece the
Bangles were one of the biggest bands of the ‘80s.
The all-girl outfit formed back in 1981, when lead singer Susanna Hoffs teamed up with sisters Debbi and Vicki Peterson, later adding original bassist Michael Steele.
Thanks to the cover of a Prince original, “Manic Monday” and the Simon and Garfunkel track “Hazy Shade Of Winter”, the group became a worldwide hit, before disbanding at the end of the ‘80s.
Having reformed in 2000 (and picking up a new member to replace Steele), the band are now back on the road – and heading to Australia.
Last year they released the DVD Return To Bangleonia, and tickets for their upcoming tour are onsale now.
