Nashville singer/songwriter Ben Folds is set to team up with British novelist Nick Hornby for a new album, the pair laying down tracks over a mere three days in Dublin, Ireland.

Before he can do that, however, the “Rocking The Suburbs” singer (who regularly spends time down under, visiting Adelaide family with his twin daughters) has to release his third solo album – Way To Normal, due out later this month.

Hornby meanwhile is the writer behind novels such as About A Boy and High Fidelity. “Nick Hornby and I are talking about doing a record where he writes all the lyrics and I write the music,” Folds revealed yesterday. “His lyrics are great. These are really good words. But I’m not going to let them intimidate me, I’m just going to go in and whip out the music. Some of [the lyrics] he felt hit close to the bone about certain things, certain named people, and we’ve been juggling how to keep from making a record that’s going to get sued.”

The unlikely duo will team up for the project in December.
