Fans of the Foo Fighters will have to endure a long wait for any new material from their favourite band, with Dave Grohl (the former Nirvana drummer) revealing the “Everlong” four-piece are set to take a nice long holiday.

With five Grammy nominations to their name with their latest effort, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (the band winning Best Rock Album and Best Hard Rock Performance for ‘The Pretender’), yesterday Grohl revealed on BBC Radio 1 program ‘The Chris Moyles Show’ that the Foos are taking a nice long break.

“We’ve never really taken a long break, I think it’s time,” he said. “We’re over in the UK every year, every summer, so I think it’s time to take a break and come back over when people really miss us.”

The band’s last gig for some time with be performing alongside ZZ Top at the annual motorcycle fundraiser the Harley Davidson Love Ride, held in October in California.
