The sixth longplayer from controversial Detroit rapper Marshall Mathers – aka Eminem – will be titled King Mathers, and released in December.

It’ll be the first brand new studio LP from the “Without Me” star in four years, the follow-up to 2004’s Encore. Set to be released via Interscope, a source close to the star has revealed the record will contain a collaboration with 50 Cent, as well as tracks detailing his recent “personal battles”.

“He’s out to realise his full potential,” says the pal. “It’s exciting times and, of course, there’s massive expectation surrounding this new record. But the fans need not worry about its quality. Most of the music’s being mastered at the moment. There’s a real belief the album will go stellar.”

Last year the 35-year-old rapper claimed he wasn’t keen on recording another longplayer and would prefer to just produce other artists – but confirmed earlier this month that he was back in the studio, “just banging out tracks.”
