Pop starlet Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has given birth to her first child – a boy, named Bronx Mowgli Wentz. Together with husband Pete Wentz, the bassist in “I Don’t Care” rockers Fall Out Boy, the 24-year-old “Little Miss Obsessive” singer checked into Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre for the birth, which took place on Thursday 20 November.

“Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!” a spokesperson revealed yesterday. Bronx’s new aunt, singer Jessica Simpson, is rapt over her new relative.

“Bronx is beyond precious. I’m over the moon with joy,” the singer says. “Life is a beautiful miracle. Ashlee and Pete are healthy, happy, and enjoying every moment.”

“We can’t wait to spend Bronx’s first holidays together with the whole family,” agreed Ashlee’s parents Joe and Tina Simpson. “We are truly blessed.”

It’s not the only baby on the way for the couple – Fall Out Boy’s third album, Folie A Deux, will be released on Tuesday 16 December.
