Currently in Australia on tour, New York City artist/uber-producer
Mark Ronson – who’s worked with the likes of
Lily Allen,
Christina Aguilera, and the
Kaiser Chiefs – says there’s no bad blood between him and troubled British singer
Amy Winehouse, following the collapse of the duo’s plans to record the theme song for the latest James Bond film, Quantum Of Solace.
According to the Versions star (brother of DJ Samantha Ronson, girlfriend of Lindsay Lohan), tabloid reports that he was “gutted” over losing the song aren’t true.
“[Amy] is a really good friend and I'm there for her,” the 33-year-old says of his Back To Black cohort. “I haven't been in England in a while. I always go and see her when I'm there and I saw her about six weeks ago but I haven't spoken to her in a little while.” He also revealed the pair were due to finish a cover of
Lesley Gore's “You Don't Own Me”, for an upcoming
Quincy Jones tribute. “Hopefully we'll get that done,” Ronson says.
The theme sung to the film, “Another Way To Die”, was eventually written sung by
Jack White and
Alicia Keys.
