It’s battle of the divas, with reports that former Destiny’s Child singer Beyoncé Knowles has upset Janet Jackson over comments about her background and social class.

In a new interview with fashion magazine Elle, the 27-year-old “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) star was discussing her childhood, and talking about the social status of her parents. “I grew up upper class,” Knowles revealed. “Private school. My dad had a Jaguar. We’re African-American and we work together as a family, so people assume we’re like the Jacksons – but I didn’t have parents using me to get out of a bad situation.”

According to the New York Daily News, Jackson is fuming about the diss, and is planning on confronting Knowles about the comment. The Jacksons grew up in the working class suburb of Gary, Indiana.
