Actress Angelina Jolie has criticised
Madonna's October 2006 adoption of a one-year-old Malawian boy. The current issue of French magazine Gala features an interview with the Hollywood star, who has two adopted children of her own (five-year-old Cambodian-born Maddox, and two-year-old Ethiopian-born Zahara). "Madonna knew the situation in Malawi, where he was born," Jolie said. "In that country [Malawi] there isn't really a legal framework for adopting. Personally, I prefer to stay on the side of the law." Meanwhile, Madonna is reportedly paying the university tuition fees of a local government official named Willard Manjolo, whose colleagues helped her adoption process. Manjolo, now studying at Swansea University in Wales, has dismissed the rumour.
