New Zealand-born Nashville resident, country singer
Keith Urban, has revealed he’s got a brand new album up his sleeve, Defying Gravity.
The husband of actress Nicole Kidman says he’ll drop his fifth longplayer on Tuesday 31 March, with the first single “Sweet Thing” already at radio in the USA (his 18th top ten hit there) and here in Australia.
According to the 41-year-old singer, the title “comes from the lyrics of a song on the album and it just struck me at the time as a phrase that really defined the joyous, optimistic and uplifting spirit that seemed to show itself while making the album.”
While there’s no local tour in the works, in May Urban will undertake an American tour, with a rotating group of support acts including
Sugarland,
Taylor Swift, Jason Aldean,
Lady Antebellum, the Zac Brown Band and
Dierks Bentley.
