He’s responsible for creating one of the biggest selling albums of all time in Thriller, but the estate of US pop star Michael Jackson is suffering. Hence the “Bad” singer has announced he’ll hold a huge public auction in April, where over 2,000 items will be up for grabs.

Held over five days at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, Jackson has put up a huge array of personal belongings in a move he hopes will generate millions of dollars. Items up for auction include a 1999 limousine – valued at a whopping AUS$250 million dollars – to individual pieces of cutlery. Jackson’s iconic diamond encrusted glove, the gates to his Neverland Ranch, paintings of Jackson, as well as the scissor gloves actor Johnny Depp wore in the film Edward Scissorhands are also on offer. A six-volume book has been created to guide buyers through the items.

“Michael Jackson was a collector of everything,” Darren Julien, president of Julien’s Auctions, told Fox News. “We’ve never seen a collection that is as extensive and eccentric as his.”

The auction will be held on Wednesday 22 – Saturday 25 April.
