Perth-via-Melbourne popsters
Little Birdy are hitting the road, in anticipation of their highly anticipated third longplayer, Confetti. Already fans have been loving radio track “Brother” – which features guest Paul Kelly – while the album’s first official single, the foot-stomping “Summarize”, is out Friday 17 April. The third LP from 25-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist Katy Steele (sister of Empire Of The Sun/Sleepy Jackson frontman Luke Steele) and pals is set to be released on Friday 8 May.
“We’ve spent so much time perfecting the new songs,” says Steele of the new tracks, “and we cant wait to play them for all of you. It’s felt like a long time coming and we are looking forward to having these songs come alive on stage.”
Little Birdy’s national album tour will kick off in Townsville, QLD, on Saturday 2 May, later winding up in their home-town of Perth on Saturday 30 May. The band debuted a few new songs during their killer set at the recent Sound Relief benefit in Sydney, showcasing new sounds influenced by the Stax & Motown era.
