[Source: NME.com] Rihanna is attempting to recover the jewellery she lost the night she was allegedly beaten by Chris Brown.

The pop star filed a motion on Tuesday 21 April asking the Los Angeles Police to return the jewellery they confiscated as evidence in the case. The earrings and three rings are valued at AUS$1.95 million.

Rihanna wore to jewellery to the pre-Grammy Clive Davis party she attended on Saturday 7 February, just before the alleged beating occurred. According to the papers filed in the case, the pieces were loaned to the singer by four companies that have asked for the jewellery back, reports the Associated Press.

Brown was arrested on Sunday 8 February in Los Angeles while the Grammys were underway, as previously reported. He was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats.
