[Source: NME.com] Cameras will not be allowed into the courtroom during the drugs trial of rapper Lil Wayne, a judge has ruled in Arizona.

The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, made the bid to have the cameras banned in order to prevent the trial from becoming a “media circus”.

Carter will stand trial on drugs charges relating to an incident at Border Patrol checkpoint in Yuma, AZ in January of this year when police allegedly found cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana on his tour bus.

A gun was also found during the search, but the weapons charge was dropped after Carter proved he is registered to carry a concealed weapon, reports Contact Music .

He still faces a trial in New York for possession of a gun that was found on his bus after a show in the city in 2007.
