Sir Paul McCartney has forced web giant Google to remove his home from the company’s Google’s Street View program, which allows users to view any address in the world via satellite technology.
The “I Saw Her Standing There” singer’s North London home – his primary address since 1965 – was able to be viewed from a 360 degree angle via the search engine, with McCartney reportedly “unsettled” that the public could get such intimate access.
A formal complaint was launched to Google by the 66-year-old singer’s security team, who monitor the premises 24 hours a day. His premises were blocked for viewers. According to a company spokesman says, any member of the public can a ask to have their home removed.
“Since the launch of Street View, millions have used it and the vast majority are very happy to have their house included,” the spokesman added.
