The frontwoman of Arkansas trio Gossip, outspoken singer Beth Ditto, has blasted US pop star Katy Perry, labelling the 24-year-old “I Kissed A Girl” singer “offensive to gay culture”.

With their fourth album, Music For Men, hitting the airwaves at the end of June, 28-year-old Ditto launched her tired in a new interview with British gay magazine Attitude. The singer (who admits to be bisexual) described Perry’s song as a “boner dyke anthem for straight girls who like to turn guys on by making out or, like, faking gay.”

“I hate Katy Perry!” Ditto insists. “She’s offensive to gay culture, I’m so offended. She’s just riding on the backs of our culture without having to pay any of the dues and not being actually lesbian or anything at all.”
