Hasidic reggae artist
Matisyahu (aka Matthew Paul Miller) is set to return with his long-awaited third release, Light.
Due to hit airwaves on Tuesday 25 August, the 13 track disc was recorded in Jamaica, New York, Los Angeles and Virginia, and according to the 29-year-old “King Without A Crown” performer was actually completed over a year ago.
Matisyahu says personnel changes at his record label, Epic, held up the discs, which features guest spots from the likes of
Sly & Robbie and Fishbone.
“The last year, I spent more time at home than I have in the last five years," he told industry mag Billboard of the inspiration behind new tracks such as “For You” and single “One Day”. "There was something on this record that was more about staying stationary – not running around and just getting into myself, a more introverted place."
Matisyahu is currently preparing to launch his US summer tour.
