U2 have revealed more details of their upcoming Broadway musical, an onstage adaptation of “Spider-Man”. Now the “Get On Your Boots” outfit have enlisted acclaimed British stage and screen actor Alan Cumming for the New York production. Cumming was recently awarded an OBE for his work, and is set to play the Green Goblin – the alter ego of Norman Osbor and Spider-Man/Peter Parker’s arch enemy.
“Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark” is being directed by Julie Taymor, who won high acclaim for her stage production of “The Lion King”. Set to open in 2010, the shows features lyrics and music written by Bono and The Edge. No names have been revealed for the lead role as yet, but former Marilyn Manson flame Evan Rachel Wood will play Peter Parker’s girlfriend, Mary Jane Watson.
U2 have kicked off their 360 degree world tour in Spain, where they’ll perform songs from their latest LP, No Line On The Horizon.
