Celebrating its fifteenth anniversary in 2009, organisers of the annual all-Australian and New Zealand music festival Homebake announced their first line-up this morning.
Taking place on Saturday 5 December in the Domain, Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, headlining Homebake is one of Australia’s biggest and best-loved bands, who’ll also be showcasing tunes from their forthcoming new LP –
Powderfinger.
Also taking to the stage to perform tracks from August’s Shaka Rock are former Melbourne-based rockers
Jet, who’ll gear up the Sydney crowd alongside a slew of other artists, including: the
Hilltop Hoods,
Eskimo Joe,
Sia,
Daniel Merriweather,
Midnight Juggernauts,
Sarah Blasko,
Tim Finn, Closure In Moscow, Tiki Taane,
Short Stack,
Phrase, Eddy Current Suppression Ring,
the Funkoars,
the Middle East,
the Aston Shuffle, Sugar Army, Record Producer, Shockone and more to be announced.
Fans of old school rock ‘n roll will also be delighted with the addition of three legendary acts – the original line-ups of both the Underground Lovers and Tumbleweed, alongside a special performance by Roland S. Howard.
Tickets for Homebake go on sale 9am Monday 17 August.
