Rumours are swirling that three of the biggest names in the pop world – Madonna, Beyoncé Knowles and Mariah Carey – are planning to all contribute songs to an upcoming Michael Jackson charity album.

With a tribute concert currently being planned for London (where Jackson was scheduled to perform a 50-date residency before dying of supposed cardiac arrest on Thursday 25 June), according to sources a group of the pop world’s biggest names with cover their favourite ‘King Of Pop’ tunes for an upcoming compilation.

“The idea came from the memorial concert. Many fans asked if cover versions from it would be released, and it seemed a wonderful idea,” a source tells The Sun. “This covers album is sure to be a massive worldwide hit with fans and could raise a fortune for Michael’s favourite charities.”

As well as the divas, other names flagged for the project include Robbie Williams, Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross.
