Currently in Australia on a promotional visit, US pop starlet Katy Perry had a great time performing at the Ekka in Brisbane, QLD… but it wasn’t all fun for the “I Kissed A Girl” singer. According to a report in today’s papers, the fun loving 24-year-old wasn’t allowed on any of the Sideshow Alley rides by her team of watchful minders.

After appearing on the main stage, Perry was reportedly keen to get her thrills on a few thrill-seeking attractions. Her minders, however, said no way. “She really wanted to go on some of the scarier rides and kept looking up at the bigger ones,” says a publicist with Universal Music, Perry’s label. “But with all of her security there, the logistics were just too difficult. Plus with so many people knowing she was there . . . it just couldn’t be done.”

Having performed her first ever gig in Australia the night before at the Tivoli Theatre, Perry instead asked her minders to fetch her some “cotton candy” (aka fairy floss).
