[Source: NME.com] Jim Dickinson, the Memphis musician who produced for acts including The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin and The Replacements, has died aged 67.

Dickinson died on Saturday 15 August in Memphis after suffering from heart and intestinal bleeding problems following bypass surgery, reports the Associated Press.

Before becoming known as a producer in the ‘70s Dickinson was a session musician, playing on records for the Sun and Atlantic Records labels. He played piano on the Rolling Stones’ 1971 hit “Wild Horses”.

As well as the aforementioned acts Dickinson produced for Big Star, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and Alex Chilton. He also released a string of solo albums.
