The Aussie music scene is in mourning today with the news that Dean Turner, the bassist with Melbourne rockers Magic Dirt has passed away, aged 37.

Turner co-founded the seminal “Watch Out Boys” Geelong outfit with frontwoman Adalita, and had been fighting a battle with a rare cancer. Having produced records by several up-and-coming bands, he recently recorded

Adalita’s yet-to-be released solo debut album, and was managing Brisbane rockers Violent Solo.
