A British organisation designed to hep young people who are suffering from mental illness and suicide despair has blasted New York pop diva Lady Gaga, claiming her performance at the weekend’s MTV Video Music Awards – during which she played the piano to her song “Paparazzi” while covered in fake blood – was “irresponsible”.

According to the UK based organisation PAPYRUS, the “Poker Face” singer’s appearance was out of line. “Sensationalising and romanticising suicide is irresponsible,” said a spokesperson. “Celebrities, who are often idolised by young people, need to be more aware of the impact that such acts can have on vulnerable young people.”

In the act Gaga pretended first to hang herself and then stab herself to death. There’s been no comment from the pop star’s team about the accusation.
