[Source: NME.com] Coldplay have donated AUS$1.9 million to the children’s charity Kids Company.

The charity which helps underprivileged children, received the donation from the band who have generously given the cash to help the organisation achieve its goals.

“They were moved by the tough stories they heard and want to be genuine participants.” Said Kids Company’s founder Camila Batmanghelidjh about the donation.

“I got the feeling the donation was something they had planned from the start of their careers.” She added.

Coldplay have previously visited the charity’s various centres and as well as donating the money, also plan to give music lessons to the children.
